Sound

The Sound service lets you control Thingy's microphone (iOS and Android) and speaker.

The Thingy Sound service is based on two building blocks, the speaker and the microphone, which can work in specific modes.

Speaker modes:

• 8-bit PCM (streaming)
• Frequency and duration (piano keyboard)
• Sample (sample sound effects)

If a sound sample or keyboard input is detected while any of these modes are running, the current mode will quit and the new mode will start. The speaker can only function in one mode at a time.

Microphone mode (iOS and Android):

• ADPCM mode (only supported mode within the app)
