To support the control of legacy electronic devices that are only fitted with infrared (IR) remote control receivers, the Smart Remote 3 DK add-on and the Smart Remote 3 product example is fitted with an IR LED.
The IR LED and IR protocols are handled by the MCU. The Smart Remote 3 product example also contains a chip for use in code learning applications.
Note: LED output is implemented in firmware rev. 1.1 and later. IR receiving function is not
implemented in the firmware.
